Obituary: Melvin D. Foley, 74

Melvin D. Foley, 74, of Kings Mountain, died Tuesday, Feb. 23 at his home.
Born July 9, 1935, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Ed and Ivy Dishon Woodall. Melvin was raised by his grandparents the late Willie and Mittie Foley, was a former bus driver for the Lincoln County Senior Citizens and the widower of Bertie Lee Foley.
He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Ivy Fletcher and Deborah Foley.
Survivors include his children, Gail (Glenwood) and Connie (Jerry) Cornett both of Kings Mountain, Wanda Foley of Danville and Billy Foley of Stanford; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a special friend, Pam Goode.
Visitation is tonight (Feb. 25) from 5 to 8 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26 at Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery.
