Obituary: Maude Fay Gillespie Anderson, 89
February 18, 2010

Maude Fay Gillespie Anderson, 89, of Science Hill, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, at Somerset Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility.

Born in Bethesda, Wayne County, on Nov. 6, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Cicero and Mindia Jane Alberston Gillespie. She was a member of Pulaski Church of Christ and the widow of Hollis "Turk" Anderson.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Oren, Stanley, Alpha and Earnest Gillespie; and four sisters, Virginia McKechnie, Hazel Dick, Ruby Combest and her twin sister, Mary Kay Spitzelberger.

Survivors include one son, Robert "Bob" (Connie) Anderson of Science Hill; two daughters, Barbara Haste of Somerset and Mary Jo (Roger) McWilliams of Science Hill; two brothers, Robert (Alma) Gillespie of Cincinnati, Ohio and Perry (Bessie) Gillespie of Montgomery, Ala.; eight grandchildren, Jon and Marc Anderson of Somerset, Tiffany Anderson of Athens, Ala., Brad (Courtney) Anderson of Loveland, Ohio, Joshua (BillieJo) Anderson, Jennifer (Clayton) Witt and Christopher (Amanda) Haste all of Science Hill and Kelly and (Rusty) Bittle of Louisville; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Feb. 13, at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill with Bro. Sam Dick officiating. Burial was in Science Hill Cemetery.

Donations may be made to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan.
