<description>The Lincoln County Fiscal Court voted unanimously against increasing property taxes in the next fiscal year beyond the standard compensatory rate. The court's options were to accept the compensatory rate of 8.9 percent, add an additional 4 percent to the existing rate or set another rate, subject to voter recall, but the last two choices would have required publishing public announcements and scheduling public hearings all before the Aug. 31 deadline to have the tax rate established.</description>
